Image Converter: JPG PNG PDF · Android
About this policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Image Converter: JPG PNG PDF (the “App,” Android package com.devbears.imageconvert) handles information when you select an image, convert it, save or share a result, view advertisements, or contact the developer. DevBears develops and operates the App. In this policy, “we” and “us” mean DevBears, the team responsible for the data practices described here.
Privacy contact: qwertystar89@gmail.com.
Images, converted files, and history
The App reads the image you select through Android’s image picker or file picker. It creates a working copy and performs image conversion on your device. The conversion feature does not upload your image contents or generated PDFs to a developer-operated conversion server.
Converted files and conversion history are stored in the App’s local storage. History includes information needed to find and display a result, such as its filename, format, file size, creation time, and local file location. The App does not provide an account, cloud conversion service, or its own cross-device synchronization service.
When you choose Save, the App creates a separate public copy in your device’s pictures or downloads storage. When you choose Share, Android’s share sheet lets you select another app or recipient. That app or recipient then handles the file under its own practices. Your gallery, file manager, device backup service, or other software may also handle files you save or share.
The App does not intentionally attach image contents or generated PDFs to analytics or advertising requests. Automatic error reports can contain technical information included in an error, such as a file path or filename.
Information collected automatically
The App uses Google Analytics for Firebase, Firebase Crashlytics, and Google AdMob. These services process information separately from local image conversion.
App usage and reliability
Google Analytics for Firebase collects an app-instance identifier, advertising identifiers when available, and automatic usage events such as screen views and sessions. It also derives approximate location from masked IP addresses. We use analytics to understand app usage. The App does not set a custom user ID or add custom Analytics events or user properties. Google signals, which can associate Analytics activity with information from signed-in Google accounts, is disabled for our Analytics property. Google’s Analytics data disclosure explains the service’s collection practices.
Firebase Crashlytics collects crash reports, stack traces, relevant application state, device metadata, and installation identifiers to help identify and resolve failures. Its supporting Firebase services process installation and session information for reliability measurements. Firebase’s Android data disclosure describes these services.
Analytics and crash reporting are enabled automatically. The App currently has no separate in-app switch to turn them off. Advertising privacy choices described below do not, by themselves, turn off these services.
Advertising
The App uses Google AdMob to display banner and full-screen advertisements. Google’s Mobile Ads SDK collects and shares IP addresses, product and ad interactions, diagnostic information, and device or account identifiers, including advertising and app-set identifiers when available. These data support advertising, measurement, and fraud prevention. An IP address can be used to estimate general location. Some identifiers and uses depend on your device, account, consent choices, and ad settings. See Google Mobile Ads data disclosure.
Ads may be personalized or limited according to the applicable choices and settings. Choosing not to receive personalized ads does not necessarily stop all advertising-related processing, including measurement and fraud prevention. Google explains this distinction in How Google uses information from apps that use its services.
Advertising privacy choices
The App uses Google’s User Messaging Platform to check advertising consent information. The App requests ads only when Google’s consent system reports that ads may be requested. Required forms are presented on an available home screen; if the consent check or form is unavailable, advertising may remain unavailable. When Google requires an entry point to revisit those choices, an advertising privacy control appears on the home screen. The choices available depend on the message, region, and Google’s requirements. Google’s User Messaging Platform documentation explains these controls.
You can also use the advertising identifier controls available in your Android settings. Depending on your Android version, these allow you to reset or delete your advertising ID. These controls affect the identifier; they do not delete previously transmitted analytics or crash data.
Permissions and device access
The App uses Android’s image and file selection interfaces to access the image you choose. On older Android versions, it may request storage permission to save a public copy. Internet access is used by the Google services described above. The App does not request precise-location, contacts, microphone, or camera access for its image-conversion features.
You can review and change permissions in Android settings. Removing a permission may prevent the associated action, such as saving a file on an older device.
Sharing and third-party services
The Google services described in this policy receive the information required for their respective operations. Their processing is governed by the applicable Google terms and privacy information, including the Google Privacy Policy and Firebase privacy and security information. Google’s advertising service is a data recipient; local image processing should not be understood as a claim that the App collects or shares no data.
Our Analytics account’s general sharing option for improving Google products and services is disabled. Separate options remain enabled for aggregated, de-identified modeling and business insights, technical support, and recommendations to the developer. Firebase’s separate service-data setting permits Google to use data generated while providing and administering Firebase for insights and improvement of other Google services. These settings do not turn off the App’s Google SDKs or replace your advertising privacy choices.
Files you deliberately share through Android and information you submit directly to another app, website, or advertiser are handled by those recipients. This policy does not replace their privacy policies.
Retention, deletion, and local controls
The App retains conversion history and app-managed results locally so that you can return to them. Deleting a result from the history removes that history entry and its app-managed result file. It does not delete your original image or separate copies already saved to device storage, shared elsewhere, or backed up by another service. You can manage those copies using the relevant app or service.
The App attempts to remove stale working copies during cleanup; a file-system error can delay removal until a later cleanup attempt. Android’s app-storage controls can remove the App’s local data from that installation. Removing local data does not delete information already received by Google.
Our Google Analytics property is configured to retain event-level data for 2 months and user-level data for 14 months. The user-level retention period resets when a user has new activity, so continuing activity can extend retention of the user identifier. Expired data is removed through Google’s regular deletion process. These controls do not set the lifetime of standard aggregated reports. Google Analytics retention controls explain the distinction.
Firebase states that Crashlytics retains crash data and associated identifiers for 90 days before beginning removal from live and backup systems. Advertising data follows Google’s applicable retention practices, which differ by data and purpose. See Firebase’s retention information and the Google Privacy Policy.
The App does not provide an account or an in-app tool for deleting data already transmitted to Google. For questions about privacy or the data controls available to you, contact qwertystar89@gmail.com.
Security and processing locations
Google documents HTTPS or TLS protection for data transmitted by the Firebase, Analytics, and Mobile Ads services described above. Local files rely on Android’s storage protections and your device settings. No storage or transmission method can be guaranteed completely secure.
Google services may process information on infrastructure outside your country. The applicable Google privacy information describes processing locations and transfer protections. Local image conversion does not determine where analytics, crash, or advertising data are processed. Firebase processing locations.
Your privacy requests
Depending on the laws that apply to you, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of your personal information, restrict or object to processing, or withdraw consent. Contact DevBears at qwertystar89@gmail.com to make a request or ask about the available controls. We may need information to verify your request and locate relevant records. The App has no user account, so an email address alone may not identify installation-based analytics or crash records. Requests are handled subject to applicable law and the data and provider controls available; contacting us does not automatically erase all data held by Google. You may also contact your local data protection authority where applicable.
Children and family privacy
The App does not ask you to enter your age or create a profile. Automatic analytics, crash reporting, and advertising processing described above may occur when the App is used. A parent or guardian with questions about a child’s information can contact DevBears using the email below.
